We’ve added additional safeguards to help ensure nothing is opened without your explicit approval, improving security and transparency as you work.
Minor fixes are also included to keep the experience smooth and reliable.
Update now to enjoy a safer, more reliable experience.

Note for DevMate license holders:
Since the DevMate service is no longer available, DevMate licenses can no longer be activated automatically.
To continue using your license, please manually attach it in the app:
PDF Expert (Main Menu) → View My Account → Attach License → Enter your license key and click Attach.

Introducing the Translation Tool in PDF Expert!
You can now instantly translate entire PDFs between 21 supported languages, including English, Ukrainian, Chinese, Spanish, German, Italian, French, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and more.
To use translation, make sure the languages you need are downloaded in:
System Settings → General → Language & Region → Translation Languages.
After translation, you can:
– Copy the translated text;
– Share it wherever you want;
– Save it as a new PDF.
*The Translation Tool is available only available to users who have a PDF Expert Premium subscription on macOS Sequoia (15) and macOS Tahoe (16).

Since the launch of our AI Chat (Beta) in December, we’ve been listening closely to your suggestions and working tirelessly to simplify information extraction from PDFs and deliver more meaningful answers. Now, we need you! Jump in, give it a spin, and let us know how we can make it even better.

What’s new in PDF Copilot:
Precise and profound summaries: Get longer, structured, and more detailed summaries of the document or its parts.
Redesigned Content References: Content references now include not only page numbers but whole text blocks inside the document view with easy-to-spot highlighting.
New List Main Point Actions: highlight or underline relevant text right from the chat panel.
NEW Contextual Actions: By invoking the context menu on the document, you can use two new actions: Explain and Translate. Get quick translations or comprehensive explanations about specific terms, phrases, or text sections.
Annotation References and Summary: PDF Copilot will reference any relevant annotations in your document, just like ordinary text blocks, and it will also write a short summary of all the annotations in the document.
Document changes handling: Any changes in the document will trigger chat reloading, so the PDF Copilot will always operate on the latest version of the document.
Context Awareness: PDF Copilot knows about your chatting history and answers to follow-up questions.

If you want to use PDF Copilot, you must have at least macOS13 and an active subscription in your account.

Now, construction professionals can easily measure floor plans and projects across Mac, iPhone & iPad in PDF Expert, embracing streamlined workflows and efficient project management.

Meet the ‘Export as Flattened’ feature that will allow you to export a signed document or a filled-out form as a read-only PDF.
Flattening the PDF removes the layered content, reduces the file size, and locks down form fields.
Export your PDF file as Flattened to keep the content secure and protect it from being edited.

Generate Summary - generate a concise and accurate summary of the long PDF based on the most essential information in the document.
List main points - quickly analyze the document’s contents and highlight key points without reading the whole PDF.
Ask Anything - and our AI Chat feature will respond with an answer, which you can copy, regenerate, or share.
This AI Chat release will help you summarize and navigate PDF documents better and marks the beginning of our exciting journey of developing AI-powered tools in PDF Expert.

With these updates, you can enhance the quality of your PDFs and customize the top screen toolbar:
1. Remove backgrounds from signatures and stamps. You can now make the image background transparent, so when you upload an image signature or stamp, it will blend seamlessly into the PDF.
2. Customize the top toolbar. Add tools that you use most often, so they will always be within one click away. It’s a great way to speed up your daily workflow.
3. Some of you asked to remove the Tools tab page opening from the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + Tab. So we did!

Introducing Logic Page Numbering!
Sometimes, the default “1” label didn’t match the actual page number, especially with scanned documents. With Logic Page Numbering, you can customize page labels to suit your needs by manually selecting the first page.
– “Label This Page Forward as 1,2,3,4...” numbers everything from the currently selected page to the end of the document with Arabic numerals, putting the “1” link to the selected page.
– “Label This Page Forward as i, ii, iii, iv,...” numbers everything from the current page to the end of the document in Roman numerals, putting the “i” link to the selected page.
– “Label as Cover” option gives the label “Cover” to the selected page.

We are thrilled to share an exciting update! We’ve added hotkeys to change color for fast and enjoyable annotations.
It is a time saver feature as you can now easily switch between colors while annotating PDFs and focus more on active reading. Color change hotkeys work for all Annotation tools that have a color palette to them, including Pen and Shapes. Also, you can just select text in the doc and press ⌥⇧⌘1 hotkey to change colors, even if no Annotation tool is selected.

Sidecar and Continuity Camera have just been added to PDF Expert!

With Sidecar, you can turn your iPad into a second display for your Mac. How cool is that? Run multiple apps and windows on both screens and work on multiple documents all at once. You can even use your Apple Pencil to write and annotate PDF documents on your iPad while simultaneously seeing the updates live on your Mac.

With Continuity Camera, you can scan documents using your iPhone and have them automatically appear as a PDF on your Mac. You can also take photos of handwritten pages or drawings with your iPad camera and edit them on your Mac or present them to your audience immediately.
