There are a number of ways to open files in PDF Expert: from Finder or within the app.
For your convenience, we have created Recents:
- Click on File > Open Recents to see all the files you have opened in PDF Expert earlier.
- When you launch the app, the Recents pane is available from the main page directly.
- The list of Recent files can be also accessed if you right-click on the app’s icon in the Dock.
You can configure the number of files PDF Expert will store as the list of Recent files in System Preferences > General > Recent items (0-50). If you don’t need any of them or want to see another one on the list, click “Clear Recents” or right-click on the file you need to remove from the list of Recents > choose “Remove From Recents”.
PDF Expert allows opening a new file in a new window or in a new tab. You can change the default setting in PDF Expert Preferences > Open a document in… You can also open the file in a new window if you drag and drop the tab aside.
Note: you can attach a file to an email if you drag and drop the tab into the mail composer.
Once you close the last opened document, the Recents page will remain open. To close the Recents pane once you close the last tab, use the CMD+Shift+W shortcut when you close the file.
PDF Expert will open all files you worked with before quitting the app if you choose “PDF Expert opens with: All windows from last session” in PDF Expert preferences and quit the app using CMD+Q shortcut.
