Measurement tools are now available on Mac: measure with confidence, work with ease

The ability to measure, scale, and mark up floor plans on-site has always been among the most popular capabilities for architects, constructors, and engineers using PDF Expert. They enjoy the ease of use and precision of measurement tools - so much so we've received a lot of requests to provide the same features for the Mac app to ensure better workflow continuity. So we listened, and now we've delivered! Meet the scale and measurement tool now available in PDF Expert on Mac.

Now, construction professionals can easily transition between tasks and locations without facing compatibility issues, leading to improved productivity, more streamlined workflows, and more efficient project management.

How do Measurement tools work on PDF Expert Mac?

Integrating the 'Measure' tab into your workflow is straightforward. You can simply add the ‘Measure’ tab by clicking the + button on the toolbar. Then, you can choose ‘Calibrate’ and then ‘Distance,’ ‘Area,’ and ‘Perimeter’ tools to cater to your specific measurement needs:

  • Calibrate allows you to set the scale for a floor plan - this will be automatically detected by PDF Expert, or you can manually enter the scale.
  • Distance / Area / Perimeter: once the scale has been set, you can then use these tools to draw a line between two points on the drawing, highlight an area, or outline a perimeter, and PDF Expert will automatically calculate the distance or size in the appropriate units.
  • Measurement units. You can also change measurement units if needed. To do this, click the measurement unit icon at the top left corner of the screen, enter Measure Settings, and choose from millimeters, meters, inches, and feet.

*Please note that the “Red Line” toolset, which includes Arrow/Callout/Cloud, is not included in this release and will be released at a future date.

Save time with streamlined workflows
