These Terms, any order forms, as applicable, the Privacy Notice for the website, the Privacy Notice for the App, the Data Processing Agreement (EEA), and the Data Processing Agreement (US), constitute the entire legally binding agreement and understanding between us and our Users or business customers.
By installing the App or using our website, you hereby declare and warrant that:
If you represent a company or other legal entity and wish to purchase several subscriptions for your organisation's authorised users, please contact us. We will enter into a formal agreement. In this case, the organization you represent will become our customer (“Business Customer”).
If you use the Service as a business representative, you further certify that you are eligible to legally bind the represented legal entity, grant Readdle all permissions and licenses under these Terms, and disclose information about that legal entity.
The Security Compliance Questionnaire (Appendix 2 to the Data Processing Agreement (EEA) or Data Processing Agreement (US)) is available on request for legal entities. Please contact us.
If the legal entity you represent is registered outside the European Economic Area, please contact us to conclude the Data Transfer Agreement.
In brief
PDF Expert in the desktop or mobile versions compatible with macOS, iOS, or iPadOS is available for free download on our website, Mac App Store, or App Store. Please note that you can download the macOS version for free from the Mac App Store only if you previously purchased it on the Mac App Store.
By installing the App, you acquire a free-of-charge license to use the App with a limited set of features as may be provided or canceled by Readdle within your license period.
To use PDF Expert, you may need to register a personalized cross-platform account (“Account”) by providing your email address or signing up through third-party accounts, namely Google or Apple. Please note that your use of such third-party accounts is subject to their legal and privacy documents.
If you sign up via your email, please click on the button in our email to the indicated email address to confirm it and instantly sign in.
The Account is intended for you to track your subscriptions and sign in on your Mac, iPhone, and iPad. You can have only one Account, and you may not transfer or assign it to someone else.
If you know or have any reason to suspect that someone has gained access to your Account without your authorization, your credentials have been lost, stolen, misappropriated, or otherwise compromised, please immediately notify us.
To irreversibly terminate your Account, please reach out to us at dpo@readdle.com or use the relevant functionality in your Account.
Before purchasing an annual or lifetime Premium subscription for PDF Expert, you can explore all additional features available under the subscription during a free trial subject to the then-current terms of the free trial offer displayed in the App.
Within particular promotional campaigns, we may offer special terms for the free trial or free use of a subscription plan for a specific period to select users. Additionally, we may offer free trials for one or multiple features available under the PDF Expert Premium subscription plan. The terms of such offerings shall be detailed in a separate promotion description and/or in the App, or otherwise communicated to you.
We reserve the right to change the PDF Expert Premium subscription plan, including the list of the features available. We will provide you with adequate notice if the changes significantly affect your use of the App. Your continued use of PDF Expert after the effective date of such change will constitute your agreement to the changes.
If you download PDF Expert via our website, you are not required to provide any credit card information during the free trial period. When the free trial expires, you may purchase an annual or lifetime subscription to use PDF Expert through our website.
The lifetime subscription offers limited future updates, meaning that you will get the current functionality supported, the general updates intended for bug fixes, and security updates; however, some new features developed and offered by Readdle may be made available on a paid-for basis.
If you download PDF Expert via the App Store, your payment details are processed, and you are charged through the App Store.
Please note that your App Store subscription fee for the use of PDF Expert will be automatically charged after the end of your trial period or free use period of the Premium subscription plan, or your then-current subscription period unless you cancel it in your device settings at least 24 hours before the billing date.
You may purchase certain subscriptions through our resellers. If you choose this option, your payment details will be processed, and you will be charged through the relevant reseller’s platform. Following the purchase, you will receive a subscription activation code, which can be redeemed on our Website manually or, in some cases, automatically on the reseller’s platform.
The purchase of a subscription is subject to the then-current fee (including VAT, if applicable) indicated at the checkout screen.
Readdle reserves the right to revise the fees at any time, giving users adequate notice of changes before they become effective. Your continued use of PDF Expert after the effective date of such change will constitute your agreement to pay the updated fees. If you do not agree to pay the updated subscription fees, you can cancel your subscription, and after that, you can continue using the App’s free-of-charge features only.
Please note that if you pay in a currency that is different from the currency in which the fees are quoted, your bank may apply its current exchange rate and/or add commissions and fees on top of our subscription fees.
The purchase of a subscription is facilitated by a third-party provider, namely Stripe, under the latest Terms of Service (or equivalent) and Privacy Policy. In no case shall Readdle be responsible for any personal data processed by Stripe.
By purchasing a subscription through our website, you agree to be charged for this purchase and for future renewals of your annual subscription. Your payment card will be automatically charged at the applicable renewal rate unless you cancel your subscription before the end of the then-current subscription period. Please note if you purchase a subscription through a reseller, the reseller’s terms of service (or equivalent rules) and privacy notice may apply to the transaction. Please review the relevant documents on the reseller’s platform.
If you update PDF Expert 2 to PDF Expert 3 and have an active license for PDF Expert 2, your license will be activated automatically and provide the functionality of PDF Expert 2 in PDF Expert 3.
An optional lifetime Premium subscription will be available to you. This subscription grants access to new functionality as it may be added by us from time to time. You can check the tools within the trial period.
Pay attention that you can activate one license only on one Account.
Your subscription will automatically renew, and you will be charged a subscription fee for the subsequent subscription period unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the billing date.
